Eric  Statman


Eric Statman is Counsel to Darger Errante Yavitz & Blau LLP. Previously, he has been Of Counsel to one of the largest international law firms, and was a partner at another top New York law firm. Eric has over 30 years' experience representing major domestic and foreign companies in complex product liability and multiparty mass tort litigation and in commercial litigation. Recently, he acted as national counsel to one of the major foreign manufacturers in the Chinese drywall litigation. For over ten years, he acted as national counsel to one of the major defendants in the litigation arising from in utero exposure to diethylstilbestrol ("DES").

Eric has been appointed as liaison counsel in mass tort litigation by federal courts in Ohio and New York, and was liaison counsel in the market share cases consolidated in New York.

Eric has substantial bankruptcy litigation experience. He has defended a $100 million preference action in the 360 Networks bankruptcy on behalf of a manufacturer and seller of telecommunications equipment, and has represented a loan syndicate that extended credit to affiliates of Owens Corning in China. He has represented a major international bank in a trade finance dispute in federal district court, which resulted in a verdict in excess of $23 million on behalf of the client.
